While losing is never fun, Colorado Springs School can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while Burlington is ranked 78th).
Kiyarra Williams was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 28 points, 13 rebounds, and ten steals for Burlington. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Trinitee Holmes was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six assists and five steals.
Colorado Springs School bumped their record down to 2-7 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.8 points per game. As for Burlington, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.
Colorado Springs School will be playing in front of their home fans against Limon at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Burlington, they will head out on the road to face off against Flagler at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
