That gave the 6-foot-1 junior guard a state single-season record 1,217 points this year. The previous record of 1,207 was set during the 2009-10 campaign.
He plays shooting guard, while his 5-11 freshman brother, Bjorn, is the point guard.
Broman, who had a 71-point game earlier this season, told MaxPreps, "It's a fun accomplishment, but more importantly we won the game and, hopefully, we'll keep winning in the playoffs. To be honest, I don't even worry about looking at my points; I just worry about getting wins."
Used to getting great defensive pressure every night, Broman said, "I face a lot of different defenses - box and ones, triangles and two. The last game they played a zone. I really like zones because they open up a lot of easy shots."
He took full advantage of the looser defense by drilling eight 3-point baskets on Saturday and the team finished with 20.
He obviously has great shooting range.
"I practice NBA threes," he pointed out. "I work to keep getting farther and farther back, because that extends the defense more."
The high-scoring Lions also give up a lot of points.
Broman explained, "We like to get up and down the court a lot. We have a high-possession offense. We like to run and gun. I think it's fun for the fans."
He is being scouted by a lot of Division I colleges, but has not yet had a firm offer. "Hopefully, during the summer they will come," he said.
Barring injury, he has a great shot at setting a state career scoring record next year. Right now, however, his goal is to reach the state tournament.
