Video: Top 25 high school basketball rankings
No. 1 Montverde Academy looks the part in a pair of decisive wins.
A wild week of high school hoops saw our reigning National Player of the Year, Sharife Cooper record an insane 52-point triple double, while top-ranked Montverde Academy (Montverde, Fla.) annihilated a pair of Lone Star State contenders.
Montverde Academy throttled a quality Duncanville (Texas) 84-51, before dismantling Yates (Houston) 98-46. The Eagles looked worthy of their preseason No. 1 ranking and appear to have one of the deepest teams seen in quite some time.
No. 10 McEachern (Powder Springs, Ga.) picked up a pair of quality wins over the weekend,
taking down Mayfair (Lakewood, Calif.) and Windsor Forest (Savannah,
Ga.) behind a pair of spectacular performances by Auburn pledge Cooper.
One new team joins the MaxPreps Top 25 national high school boys basketball rankings as St. Frances
Academy moves into the open slot after previous No. 19 Rancho Christian
(Temecula, Calif.) lost its final two contests of the Battlezone
tournament.
This upcoming week begins to provide some clarity to the national rankings, as a number of Top 25 showdowns take place prior to the release of next week's rankings.
No. 2 IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) takes on No. 8 Paul VI (Fairfax,
Va.) in the National High School Hoops Festival's headline game, while No. 4 Prolific Prep (Napa, Calif.) and No. 21 Hillcrest Prep (Phoenix) highlight the Hoophall West.
Other top games this upcoming week include No. 6 DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.) vs. No. 19 Sunrise Christian Academy (Bel Aire, Kan.), No. 16 Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.) vs. Sunrise Christian Academy, No. 18 Hamilton Heights Christian Academy (Chattanooga, Tenn.) vs. No. 21 Hillcrest Prep (Phoenix, Ariz.) and No. 24 Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) vs. Teays Valley Christian (Scott Depot, W. Va.).

opened their season with a pair of dominant showings, taking down Duncanville (Texas) and Yates (Houston) the Thanksgiving Hoopfest. This group will be an extremely tough out this year.
The
defending national champions opened with a 76-43 victory over
Central Pointe Christian. Next up: a trip to the National Hoopfest with
games against No. 8 Paul VI and Cornerstone Christian (San Antonio, Texas) on Dec.
7 and 8, respectively.
3. (3) Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.), 4-0Escaped with a 66-63 victory over defending state champion Duncanville at the Thanksgiving Hoopfest. The Trailblazers could face a potential test this weekend against Millennium (Goodyear, Ariz.) at the Hoophall West.
Picked up a pair of quality wins at the Thanksgiving Hoopfest, taking down Lancaster (Texas) 69-47 and St. Mark's (Dallas) 57-44. The Crew clash with No. 21 Hillcrest Prep at the Hoophall West on Dec. 5.
Showed perseverance over the weekend at the Hoops & Dreams Showcase, taking down Word of God Christian (Raleigh, N.C.) 77-71 and Combine Academy (Lincolnton, N.C.) 70-56. This talented group takes on Taft (Cincinnati) on Dec. 6 and Elder (Cincinnati) on Dec. 7.
Opened their 2019-20 campaign with a 83-64 win over Mount St. Joseph (Baltimore). The Stags face a tough test at the National High School Hoops Festival, taking on First Love Christian Academy (Washington) on Dec. 8.
Started their season with a 60-47 victory at Archbishop Carroll (Washington, D.C.). They take on No. 2 IMG Academy on Dec. 7 and Word of God Christian on Dec. 8 at the National High School Hoops Festival.
9. (9) La Lumiere (LaPorte, Ind.), 4-0
Kicked
off their season with four wins, defeating Minnesota Prep Academy
(Brooklyn Park, Minn.) 82-68 in their most recent outing. The Lakers
return to the court Dec. 6 to face off against International (Indianapolis) at the Hendricks County Hoopfest.
10. (11) McEachern (Powder Springs, Ga.), 6-0Indians extended their win streak to 38 games behind a pair of incredible performances from reigning MaxPreps National Player of the Year
Sharife Cooper. He had 44 points in an 87-79 win over Mayfair (Lakewood, Calif.) and 52 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists in a 99-75 win against Windsor Forest (Savannah, Ga.).
11. (10) Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas), 0-0
The eight-time defending state champions begin season Dec. 6 with Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.).
12. (12) Roselle Catholic (Roselle, N.J.), 0-0
Begin season at East Side (Newark, N.J.) on Dec. 13.
The three-time defending state champions begin Dec. 5 against Monticello (Minn.).
15. (15) Wasatch Academy (Mt. Pleasant, Utah), 3-0
This group was tested in a big time in-state showdown they won 87-81 against Lone Peak in the second game of the year. The Tigers have a busy week ahead with four games on the docket.
Tipped off the year with a pair of convincing wins, knocking off Bishop McNamara (Forestville, Md.) and Loyola Blakefield (Towson, Md.) by an average of 31 points per contest. The Eagles face a major test this weekend at the National High School Hoops Festival, drawing No. 19 Sunrise Christian Academy on Dec. 7.
17. (17) Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.), 1-0
Blew out San Marcos (Santa Barbara) 85-25 in their opener. The Monarchs travel to the Hoophall West on Dec. 7 to take on Perry (Gilbert, Ariz.)
Took home the title of the four-team Lighthouse Classic Challenge, knocking off West Oaks (Orlando, Fla.) 64-61 in the title game. The Hawks have a monster showdown this weekend with No. 21 Hillcrest Prep at the Hoophall West.

Westlake (Austin, Texas) 69-41. The Buffaloes have a massive week ahead, with clashes against No. 16 Gonzaga on Dec. 7 and No. 2 IMG Academy on Dec. 8 at the National High School Hoops Festival.
20. (21) Morgan Park (Chicago), 2-0After opening up the season with a huge win over Whitney Young (Chicago), things don't get easier for the Mustangs this week as they travel to Bogan on Dec. 3 and battle with Christian Brothers (St. Louis) on Dec. 7 at the Chicago Elite Classic.
21. (23) Hillcrest Prep (Phoenix), 8-0This
group has outscored their first seven opponents by 42.4 points per
contest, averaging 107 points per game to boot. A pair of ranked
opponents awaits this group at Hoophall West, with No. 4 Prolific Prep
on Dec. 5 and No. 18 Hamilton Height Christian Academy on Dec. 7.

Defending WIAA Class 3A state champions start Dec. 6 against Chief Sealth (Seattle).
Notched a pair of quality out-of-state wins over the weekend, knocking off Memphis East (Memphis, Tenn.) 78-71 and Mountain Brook (Birmingham. Ala.) 71-60 at the Holiday Hoopsgiving. The Rams travel to Wheeler (Marietta, Ga.) on Dec. 7.
24. (24) Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.), 10-1
The Warriors look to bolster their resume this week with a big game against Teays Valley Christian (Scott Depot, W. Va.) on Dec. 6, followed by a contest against Covington Catholic (Park Hills, Ky.) on Dec. 7.
25. (NR) St. Frances Academy (Baltimore), 4-0
This group has been impressive through their first four games, knocking off Riverdale Baptist 57-48 in their closest game of the season on Monday night. This week will be capped off with a trip to the Chicago Elite Classic to go up against Simeon (Chicago).
