MaxPreps Sac-Joaquin Section Top 25 high school football rankings

Folsom's Jake Browning added yet another record to his resume last week, as he passed Jimmy Clausen as California's all-time touchdown pass leader with his 147th early in the Bulldogs' win over Clovis North.

Granite Bay moved into the top five with a convincing win over Cosumnes Oaks, while Del Oro fell from No. 3 to No. 7 after a 34-10 loss to San Diego power Helix.

Result: Beat Central Section power Clovis North 49-13 as Jake Browning set the state career TD passing mark with six first-half scoring throws, sitting out the second half with other starters, as the defense again dominated behind Sam Whitney, Bailey Laolagi and Sam Whittingham.

Result: Beat Cosumnes Oaks (Elk Grove) 40-6 in coach Ernie Cooper's return after a one-year hiatus as Cedric Johnson and Tre' Ball each had interceptions and Justin Yeaton hit Will Stabbert for two TD passes.

Result: Beat Del Campo (Fair Oaks) 38-14 as Max O'Rourke tossed two TDs and kicked a field goal and the defense stood strong again.

Result: Lost to San Diego No. 1-ranked Helix (La Mesa) 34-10 in the Honor Bowl in Oceanside in falling to its second out-of-area monster program in perhaps the section's toughest early schedule.

8. Vacaville (8) 0-1
Result: Lost to No. 3 Oak Ridge 24-23 when a last-play 2-point conversion run came up inches short in what has been a spirited, healthy rivalry.

Result: Beat El Camino (Sacramento) 53-13 as Caden Voges passed for 420 yards and four TDs and ran for three, hitting Kyron Basped 13 times for 215 yards and two scores.

10. St. Mary's (Stockton) (11) 1-0
Result: Beat Cardinal Newman (Santa Rosa) 35-15 as Marcell Spady rushed for 117 yards and three TDs and the defense kept the longtime powers in check in leading 22-0 at the half.

Result: Beat Yuba City 42-28 as Beau Bisharat ran for 253 yards and three TDs, including a 94-yarder, and Cole Brownholtz tossed two TDs.

Result: Lost to Bay Area power Bellarmine (San Jose) 42-28 despite two TDs from Lamar Jackson to Brandon Johnson, though the defense stalled in the second half.

Result: The Bears scored 49 points and had 278 yards in the first quarter en route to a 63-8 rout of new-school El Capitan (Merced). A running clock started in the first quarter.

Result: Beat Enochs (Modesto) 47-32 behind the 162 yards and three TD night of Justin Stefani and two scores from Nate Perez-Duran.

Result: Beat Turlock 30-29 in the 87th meeting between the rivals in rallying from 11 down in the fourth quarter and won it on an Andrew Lopez 63-yard TD run.

Result: Beat Atwater 62-13 as QB Hunter Petlansky accounted for three TDs as his team rolled up 352 yards in beating a Division I program.

Result: Beat Dixon 44-0 as Tony Terry III scored on the opening kickoff and Isaiah Hamilton rushed for 169 yards and three scores for interim coaches Larry Hogue and Sean Murphy, stepping in for suspended head coach LeVon Haynes.
