Mullen (Denver, Colo.) emerged as the team to beat in the Colorado 5A playoffs with a surprising 35-0 Big 6 League rout of Columbine on Thursday night.

Mullen came into the game No. 7 in the
MaxPreps Freeman National Rankings Presented by Army National Guard and No. 1 in the state. Previously unbeaten Columbine was No. 6 in the state.
According to the Denver Post, Mullen registered its sixth shutout of the season, have outscored foes 318-38 and handed Columbine its first shutout since 1994.
Mullen, the two-time defending state champs, finished off the regular season at 9-0 and 5-0, while Columbine dropped to 8-1 and 4-1.
Ameen-Moore rushed for 131 yards and scored on runs of 11, 3 and 2 yards. Miles completed TD passes of 12 and 56 yards to
Nick Diercks and
Mallcom Whye.

Terrance Magee accounted for five touchdowns, including a 27-yard scoring strike to
Vincent Wilson with 52 seconds left as Franklinton upset the state's top-ranked 4A team.
Franklinton outgained Salmen 476-307 and Magee was 18 of 27 for 285 yards and fourth touchdowns.

Daniel Sams broke loose for an 80-yard touchdown scamper in the third quarter to put his team up 28-21, before Magee fired a 12-yard scoring pass to
Josh Robinson, the second time the duo had hooked up for a touchdown.
The extra point missed, however, so the Demons were still a point behind.
Franklinton, which captured the 9-4A title with the victory, improved to 8-1, while Salmen dropped to 7-1. Franklinton entered the game No. 13 in the state according to the MaxPreps Freeman rankings and Salmen was No. 6.
Robinson had 14 carries for 113 yards and Magee 16 carries for 79 yards for Franklinton, which also got five catches apiece from Robinson,
Chris Briggs and
Reggie Wilson. Vincent Wilson had three catches for 46 yards.
