Justin Fields, the 5-star quarterback and No. 6 recruit overall in the country according to 247Sports, has decommitted from Penn State.
In a heartfelt tweet, the 6-foot-3, 221-pound senior from
Harrison (Kennesaw, Ga.) said he has re-opened his recruitment.
The No. 1 dual-threat quarterback in the country has 40 offers and many believe he's now leaning toward Florida, Auburn or Georgia.
Fields,
on Twitter, called it the most difficult decision of his life and the change was not a reflection of Penn State.
Earlier this week, Fields was picked as one of the 12 finalists to the Elite 11 camp, which is held June 28 to July 3 at The Opening in Beaverton, Ore.
Fields passed for 2,253 yards, rushed for 977 and accounted for 32 touchdowns last season.
