Six teams with perfect season records squared off in three 6A games Friday, and something had to give.
ÿ
When it was all over, top-ranked Jesuit, third-rated Sheldon, and No. 6 Grant ended the night with another victory.
ÿ
For the No. 1 Crusaders, the showdown with fourth-ranked Westview was just another night.
ÿ
Jesuit scored on the third play from scrimmage on a 65-yard touchdown run by Paul Weatheroy, and was never seriously challenged in cruising to the 51-7 win over the host Wildcats. Jesuit led 25-0 at halftime. The Crusaders finished with 479 yards in total offense, while the defense recorded five sacks and had three pass interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown.
ÿ
Third-ranked Sheldon had a tougher time with Southwest Conference rival Grants Pass.
ÿ
The Irish had a comfortable 21-7 half time lead, but the visiting Cavemen rallied in the second half, ignited by a 92-yard kickoff return by Terry Hodder. Grants Pass scored its final touchdown with just under one minute to play on a 13-yard touchdown pass from Zach Morgan to Shane Mahr to cut the lead to 27-25. But Morgan's two point conversion pass was intercepted at the goal line to seal the win for Sheldon. Irish running back Zach Todd rushed 21 times for 105 yards and two touchdowns in the victory.

The matchup between PIL powers Lincoln and Grant brought out over 5,000 fans to Lincoln. But the game turned into a romp, as the visiting Generals jumped out to a 17-3 halftime lead and blew out the Cardinals, 38-17, ending Lincoln's league dominance.
ÿ
Grant running back Kasseem Osheroff rushed 22 times for 174 yards and two touchdowns. The Generals' defense was impressive, limiting Lincoln signal caller Connor Kavanaugh to just 207 yards and two touchdowns on 11 of 23 passes. He had been averaging over 400 yards and five touchdowns over the past four games.
ÿ
5A Game of Note: Second-ranked Wilsonville also fell from the unbeaten ranks Friday, coming up short at home to Northwest Oregon Conference rival Sherwood, 17-14.
ÿ
The visiting Bowmen used a six-minute, 71-yard drive late in the fourth quarter to grab the win. Sherwood's only loss this season was to top-ranked West Albany.
