Wisconsin high school girls basketball: Playoff brackets released

Brackets for all five divisions; action begins Feb. 24.

The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) has released the brackets for the 2026 girls basketball playoffs, which is celebrating its 50th year as a WIAA-sponsored sport. 

Opening round action is Tuesday, Feb. 24. The state tournament will be held March 12-14 at Resch Center in Green Bay. 

Read on for a look at each bracket, top seeds and defending champions.

Division 1 (70 teams) 
Top seeds: Stevens Point, Pewaukee, Arrowhead, Wauwatosa East
No. 2 seeds: Notre Dame Academy, Appleton East, Waunakee, Indian Trail
Defending champion: Kimberly 

Division 2 (78 teams) 
Top seeds: Rice Lake, Shawano, Edgewood, Elkhorn, Xavier, Milwaukee Vincent, Whitefish Bay, Whitnall
Defending champion: Wauwatosa East (now in D1) 

Division 3 (92 teams)
Top seeds: St. Croix Central, Wittenberg-Birnamwood, Aquinas, Edgerton, Denmark, Oostburg, Kettle Moraine Lutheran, Milwaukee Academy of Science
Defending champion: Oostburg 

Division 4 (91 teams) 
Top seeds: Colfax, Regis, St. Mary Catholic, Manitowoc Lutheran, Pardeeville, Deerfield, Kohler, Dominican
Defending champion: Cuba City (now in D3)

Division 5 (115 teams) 
Top seeds: Webster, Eleva-Strum, Independence/Gilmanton, Argyle/Pecatonica, Florence, Pacelli, Sheboygan Area Lutheran, Chesterton Academy
Defending champion: Assumption
