Savanna hasn't had much luck against Weleetka recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Outlaws at 4:30 p.m. Savanna has given up an average of 11.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Thursday just wasn't the day for Savanna's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 12-0 to Strother, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Weleetka, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over Warner on Monday.
Mark Garcia and Noah Hare made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Garcia pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Hare didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. At the plate, Garcia went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI, while Hare went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. Hare has become a key player for Weleetka: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 8-9 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jonah Roberts, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.
Weleetka was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Warner only posted a batting average of .185.
Weleetka pushed their record up to 12-9 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Savanna, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.
Savanna might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from Weleetka when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Bulldogs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
