Andale Holds Off Andover Central
Andale remained atop the Class 4A rankings after pulling out a crucial victory over Andover Central, 37-27.
Andale claimed their 17th straight victory. After Andover Central took a 7-0 lead, Ethan Ungles took the ensuing kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown. Ungles later added a second kickoff return for a score, this time from 65 yards.
Andale's defense contained junior Jayden Bird, holding the All-State candidate to 60 yards on 17 carries.
Andover Central's Spencer Glenn threw for three touchdowns in a losing effort.
Kansas Player of the Week: Bryce Brown- RB- Wichita East
In a 69-0 victory over Wichita West on Friday night, Brown rushed for 312 yards and five touchdowns on only seven carries. Brown scored on runs of 14, 43, 87, 58, and 96 yards in the victory. Wow!
Honorable Mention
Josh Smith- Hutchinson: Looks like the perennial 6A power has found themselves a running back. Smith rushed for 202 yards and three touchdowns in a 41-13 victory over Derby .
Bryce Atagi- Shawnee Mission Northwest: Atagi rushed for 202 yards and three touchdowns in a
Tanner Vinson- Salina South: Vinson rushed for 217 yards and four touchdowns in a 35-34 loss to Maize.
Derek Campbell- Manhattan: Campbell rushed for 311 yards and two touchdowns in a 28-6 victory over Topeka Highland Park.
Broderick Smith- Garden City: Smith rushed for 276 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-40 loss to Great Bend.
Kenneth Bronson and Michael Glass- Northern Heights: Bronson threw for 410 yards and five touchdowns in a 50-43 loss to West Elk. Glass caught 13 passes for 183 yards and two touchdowns.
Logan Dold- Garden Plain: On just 10 carries, Dold rushed for 171 yards and five touchdowns in a 62-13 victory over Kingman.

Class 6A Quick Hits
Hutchinson's Josh Smith rushed for 202 yards and three touchdowns the Salt Hawks won their 26the consecutive game with a 41-13 victory over Derby. Hutchinson's defense held Derby quarterback Jake Snodgrass to 19-of-49 passing for 255 yards.
J.D. Steffen rushed for two fourth quarter touchdowns, the last with 1:25 from 4 yards out, to give Shawnee Mission West a 20-14 victory over Olathe South. Steffen rushed for 118 yards in the victory.
Wichita East's Bryce Brown rushed for 312 yards and five touchdowns on just seven carries in a 69-0 victory over Wichita West.
Goddard enters the top five this week after a 43-13 victory over Salina Central. Quarterback Logan Watkins rushed for 127 yards on 15 carries in the victory.
Dodge City star receiver Mykael Thompson moved to quarterback in a 43-0 victory over Wichita North. Thompson rushed for 136 yards and three touchdowns, and threw for another.
Wichita Northwest dropped a 12-7 decision to Wichita Bishop Carroll. Two-sport standout Chris Harper managed just 109 total yards and he was stymied by the Carroll defense.
