Video: Tyjon Lindsey Ultimate Highlights
Ohio State pledge may make his 2016 debut on Saturday.Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nev.) football coach Kenny Sanchez confirmed by text Thursday night that five-star receiver
Tyjon Lindsey is eligible to play for Saturday's home showdown with No. 24
Kahuku (Hawaii).
Whether Lindsey actually suits up for the nation's top-ranked team is questionable due to a collarbone injury, Sanchez said.
The Ohio State commit played the two seasons at Bishop Gorman, hauling in 45 passes for 1,117 yards and 14 touchdowns as a junior.
247Sports has him pegged as the No. 33 overall prospect in the 2017 class.
In the spring he transferred from Gorman to Centennial (Corona, Calif.), and practiced with the team before leaving the Southern California power on Aug. 15 to return to Gorman. Lindsey and quarterback
Tate Martell, another Ohio State commit, form one of the most lethal passing combinations in the country. The duo played their freshman season together at Poway (Calif.).
Gorman's junior receiver duo of
Jalen Nailor and
Dorian Thompson-Robinson have been very effective in Lindsey's absence combining for 17 catches, 345 yards and four touchdowns. Sanchez also said Cal-bound running back
Biaggio Ali Walsh, who re-injured his ankle in a 35-20 comeback win over previous No. 3 St. John Bosco (Bellflower), is out for Saturday's game.
Kahuku (5-0) has outscored opponents 254-22 and recorded three straight shutouts.
