Summerville (S.C.) jumped out to an early lead against
Colleton County (Walterboro, S.C.) and never looked back on the way to a 22-7 victory on Saturday.
The Green Wave put up six points in the opening frame. Summerville scored on a rushing touchdown.
SHS was up 15-0 at the half after taking the lead on a rushing touchdown in the first quarter.
The Cougars' lone touchdown came on a 19-yard pass in the fourth quarter.
The Green Wave came in allowing an average of 26.9 points per game this season.
Summerville also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 28-7.
With the win SHS extended its winning streak to three games.
In a AAAA Region VIII game next week Summerville (5-4) takes on Ashley Ridge, and Colleton County (0-9) will go up against Bluffton also in a AAAA Region VIII game.
