There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. That and more in this week's report.
Can't Touch This
Montclair's 49 - 13 win over Bloomfield last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Daniel Webb. Webb rushed for 135 yards and four touchdowns. That performance made Webb one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
No Stoppin 'Em
Haddonfield gave both Haddon Heights and its quarterback (sacked 6.5 times) a rough time last week. Haddonfield strolled past Haddon Heights with points to spare, taking the game 47 - 27. One major factor in the win was the play of senior Nick Patrizi, who earned two touchdowns and 89 yards rushing the ball. The combined 74-point effort made this the highest-scoring game in the power rankings for the week.
Look Out Below
Phillipsburg is a little down this week -- likely figuratively, certainly literally. The team fell six spots in the power rankings (the most of any team in the rankings) after its most recent contest. It was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as it fell 21 - 14 to Easton. The team got a solid performance out of junior Jack Stagaard (he threw for 285 yards and two touchdowns); unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Rancocas Valley (14th in the power rankings) and Lenape (5th). Both teams have their heads held high after dominating their previous opponents. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both Rancocas Valley and Lenape put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they play one another this week.
