Video: Thomas Day highlightsTennessee junior is multi-talented.One of the stars of Tuesday night's episode of 'America's Got Talent' on NBC was 17-year old high school football kicker
Thomas Day of
Brentwood (Tenn.).
According to the Williamson Herald, Day spent part of the day working out with teammates before heading home to see his audition air on the show featuring judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Sofia Vergara.
"It was honestly overwhelming to watch," Day told the Herald. "I was really nervous watching it and it was just kind of weird to see myself on TV … it's honestly a dream come true."
Day performed the 2018 hit "Break My Heart Again" by Finneas, the brother of recent Grammy Award winner Billie Eilish.
According to statistics submitted to MaxPreps, the 5-foot-10, 150-pound junior kicked six field goals on seven attempts last fall with a long of 44 yards. He connected on all 19 point-after attempts for the Bruins, who went 10-3 and reached the quarterfinal round of the Division I Class 6A state playoffs.
Day is also a member of the school's soccer team, which saw it's season end before it really ever got started in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
