It was a good run, but the Georgia Christian Generals unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. Their tough 59-35 loss to Atkinson County might stick with them for a while. The matchup was a close 26-25 at the break, but unfortunately for Georgia Christian it sure didn't stay that way.
Leading Atkinson County to victory were Ja'Kari Northcutt and Kamari Moore. Northcutt scored 17 points, while Moore scored 18 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Northcutt has scored at least 25% of Atkinson County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Bolden, who scored eight points.
Georgia Christian's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-3. As for Atkinson County, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Georgia Christian will take on Crisp Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Atkinson County is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Lanier County at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th.
