Seven New Mexico football teams moved up at least four positions in the weekly MaxPreps computer rankings following last weekend's action.
The biggest jump was eight places by No. 68 Hot Springs, which raised its record to 4-3 with an 8-6 upset of Socorro, which at the time held down the No. 46 position in the state.
Raton moved up seven positions to No. 62 and boosted its record to 5-2 following a 49-0 rout of Clayton.
Texico gained six places to No. 53 with an impressive 42-16 victory over Santa Rosa, which had held down the No. 55 ranking. It marked the first victory for Texico in six outings.
Hatch Valley defeated Pampa (Texas) 41-34, moving five places to No. 23 and raising its record to 4-1.
St. Michael's , Deming and Cibola both gained four positions in the rankings.
St. Michael's, now 4-2, defeated No. 56 Taos 32-14 to take over the No. 41 spot, while Cibola posted a big upset 21-0 victory over Piedra Vista, which had been No. 11, to move into the No. 21 position and raised its record to 3-4.
Deming presented the most interesting jump, because it still is winless (0-7) following a 61-6 loss to Roswell Goddard, which was No. 20 at the time.
