Clay-Chalkville (Pinson, Ala.) kept up a steady attack all game long to defeat Grissom (Huntsville, Ala.), 42-12, on Saturday.
The Cougars were up 21-6 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run in the first quarter.
Clay-Chalkville expanded its lead to 23 points entering the fourth quarter. CC scored two times in the third, including once on a rushing touchdown.
With the win the Pinson school extended its winning streak to six games. The Cougars defeated the Indians 31-28 last week.
Clay-Chalkville had given up an average of 15.0 points prior to the contest.
The loss comes after Grissom defeated Sparkman 30-29 last week. The loss snapped the Tigers' 2-game winning streak.
In a 6A Region 7 game next week Grissom (3-4) takes on Oxford, and Clay-Chalkville (6-0) will go up against Gadsden City also in a 6A Region 7 game.
