Curtis Grant, a 6-foot-3, 230-pound linebacker/wide receiver out of Hermitage (Richmond, Va.), signed a national letter of intent with Ohio State University, where he is expected to play middle linebacker.
"I pulled the trigger for Ohio State because I felt the most love from them," Grant said at his press conference. "They recruited me in a different way and I liked the way they recruited me. Coach (Jim) Tressel is a cool guy, he never pressured me. I prayed a lot. God took my heart to Ohio State."
This past fall Grant compiled 177 tackles, 10 sacks, and five interceptions in leading Hermitage to the Division 6 title game. He also had offers from U.Va., Florida, and North Carolina.
"Curtis will excel at each and every level he plays at," Hermitage coach Patrick Kane said of the talented lineman, who was listed No. 19 on the MaxPreps.com Top 100 Players list. "He is a team player and understands the team's success is directly related to his long term success."
