Cumberland Valley (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) vs. Central Catholic (Pittsburgh)
Saturday, 1 p.m. Eastern timeWhy it's big: Cumberland Valley survived a seven-overtime thriller last week to earn its first 4A state semifinals berth since 2010. The Eagles (12-2) stopped Central Dauphin's 2-point conversion attempt in the final extra session to come away with a 62-61 victory.
Central Catholic earned its second semifinal trip in three seasons behind a stout defensive effort against State College. The Vikings (13-1) held the Little Lions to under 150 total yards in a convincing 19-3 win.
Names to watch: Cumberland Valley's top overall player is versatile senior
Connor Long. In addition to leading the team in all-purpose yards (1,427), Long is second on the team in interceptions (four) and has converted eight of 10 field goal attempts with a long of 47 yards.
Three seniors on Central Catholic's swarming defense are ranked among 247Sports' list of the Top 25 senior prospects in Pennsylvania. They include four-star cornerback
Damar Hamlin and a pair of Pittsburgh commits in safety
Bricen Garner and tackle
Rashad Wheeler.
