The high school football season came to an end in Indiana over the weekend when Center Grove (Greenwood) defeated Westfield 27-21 in the Class 6A state championship game. The victory helped solidify Center Grove's place at the top of the final Indiana MaxPreps Top 25.
Center Grove was one of just two teams to finish the season with a record of 14-0 or better. Class 1A champion Indianapolis Lutheran (15-0) was the other. The Trojans repeat as Class 6A champions, having won three state titles since 2016 and have appeared in the finals five times in seven years.
Westfield, which finished as runner-up to Center Grove in 2020 and won the Class 5A state championship in 2016, finishes the season at No. 2 with a 12-2 record. Cathedral (Indianapolis), the Class 5A champion with a 14-1 record, finishes at No. 3.
