Video: Top 10 Games of the Week
(5) St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) at Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.)
Friday, 7 p.m. Pacific timeWhy it's big: Nationally ranked St. John Bosco travels into the rolling hills of eastern Orange County to open Trinity League play against Santa Margarita on Friday night.
The No. 5 Braves will aim for their 17th-consecutive win in maybe the best conference in all of high school football. That said, the last team to beat the Braves in a league game was Santa Margarita on the second-to-last week of the 2011 regular season.
Both teams had a bye after winning their nonleague finales. St. John Bosco (5-0) returned home with a 56-14 win over New Jersey power St. Peter's Prep. Santa Margarita (4-1) rebounded from a loss against Westlake (Westlake Village) by hammering King (Riverside) last Friday, 56-7.
Names to watch: Santa Margarita is propelled by one of the West Coast's most potent aerial connections in Stanford-bound quarterback
K.J. Costello and fellow four-star senior
Dylan Crawford. Costello has 1,330 passing yards and 12 touchdowns so far this season. Crawford had a hand in a third of both totals.
Seniors
Quentin Davis and
Sean McGrew provide most of St. John Bosco's considerable offensive firepower. The two are responsible for more than 80 percent of the Braves' total yards this season.
