Last week was opening week for 6A and 5A classifications in Texas after COVID-19 pushed back the season four weeks. The state's smaller schools began play earlier. One of those schools, 10th-ranked Argyle continues play Friday at home against Melissa.
Top-ranked Duncanville opens play Friday on the road against South Oak Cliff. The game of the week is 7:30 p.m. Friday when Guyer hosts Ryan, which won last year's game 59-28.
