MaxPreps 2016 regional high school football computer rankings

The Southwest has a new No. 1 in the MaxPreps regional football computer rankings with Allen (Texas) taking over the top spot.

Allen knocked off Guyer (Denton, Texas) 42-7 to move up five spots and dethrone De Soto (Texas) from the top spot in the Southwest.

Allen was the only new No. 1 team this week. IMG Academy (Brandeton, Fla.) is still No. 1 in the south while Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) is No. 1 in the west, Colerain (Cincinnati) is No. 1 in the midwest and St. Joseph's Prep is the top team in the northeast.

The regional rankings are based on the MaxPreps National Football Computer Rankings, presented by the Army National Guard. For the purposes of these rankings, the country is broken down into five regions:

West: California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Hawaii, Alaska and Montana.

Southwest: Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma,and Texas.

Midwest: Arkansas, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

South: Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C.

Northeast: Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Delaware and Vermont.


West
