Doherty (Colorado Springs, Colo.) may have one of the most talented volleyball teams in the state if not the nation.
Six-foot-four Haleigh Washington has transferred from Idaho Springs (Colo.) after her mother Danielle, accepted a job teaching Spanish at Discovery Canyon. She was a member of the U.S. Junior national team and can reach 10 feet 8 inches at the top of her jump.
Washington told the Colorado Springs Gazette that she is "98 percent" sure she will commit to Penn State University.
The Spartans already have several Division I prospects, some who have played with Washington on club teams. The starting lineup will feature girls who stand 6-4, 6-3, 6-1 and 5-11.
