West Greene lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Parker Burns, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Those six assists set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Wassil, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Even though they lost, West Greene were working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
California's win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-9. As for West Greene, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
California will head out on the road to face off against Mapletown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Mapletown is ranked 753rd, while California is ranked 734th). As for West Greene, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Geibel Catholic at 7:00 p.m. Geibel Catholic is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
