Xcellent 25 National Basketball Rankings presented by the Army National Guard

1. (No. 1 last week) Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.), 16-0
The Monarchs will be involved in one of the biggest games of the week, a Wednesday Trinity League showdown with No. 14 St. John Bosco of Bellflower.

2. (2) Lone Peak (Highland, Utah), 10-1
After an extended break, the Knights return to the floor Wednesday against Riverton.

3. (3) Long Beach Poly (Calif.), 12-1
Head coach Sharrief Metoyer's squad meets Jordan (Long Beach) on Monday night following an eight-day layoff.

4. (4) Whitney Young (Chicago), 11-1
After an impressive holiday tournament run, the Dolphins made another statement Saturday at the Cancer Research Classic with a 78-49 win over Neumann-Goretti (Philadelphia). Whitney Young's brutal schedule continues this weekend at the Penny Hardaway Hoopfest against No. 10 White Station.

5. (5) St. Anthony (Jersey City, N.J.), 8-0
The Friars notched their 73rd victory in a row Sunday night with a 35-15 (yes, we are sure) win over East Side (Newark).
