The biggest upset of the week belonged to Maryland Christian, who defeated 156th ranked Central Maryland Christian Crusaders, 15-13.
Fans got a thrill when Jordan Banks and Patrick Allen connected against Fairfax HomeSchool. The connection was good for 87 yards, the longest such play in Mid-Atlantic Christian this season.
Central Virginia HomeSchool's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Banks threw for 87 and 1 touchdown and Allen had 87 yards receiving. On the ground Thomas Mechling chipped in 101 yards. Holton Barnes helped Central Virginia HomeSchool's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 30 yards.
The Disciples' dynamic duo of Banks and Allen proved to be unstoppable against the Kings, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Barnes helped Central Virginia HomeSchool's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 30 yards.
Mechling provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Central Virginia HomeSchool bested Fairfax HomeSchool.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Eastern Shore HomeSchool's Xavier Townsend and Jacob Payton have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-3 quarterback Townsend has thrown for 637 yards this season, while Payton has 19 catches for 452 yards. Mechling from Scott Mechling's team leads the league in rushing with 610 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Central Virginia HomeSchool takes on second place Central Maryland Christian Crusaders. Last week, the Disciples bested Wayne Stilwell's team, while the Crusaders lost to the Saints.
The Bucks moved up to 43 from 216 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Mid-Atlantic Christian.
