St. John Bosco (Bellflower) — No. 1 in both MaxPreps Xcellent 25 and computer rankings presented by the Army National Guard — versus No. 2
Centennial (Corona) not only has great California state bowl implications, but also, of course, could easily determine a mythical national champion.
It is the fifth time since the turn of the century that the top two nationally ranked teams have squared off, but Saturday's Dec. 5 game date is much deeper into the season than the previous four, the latest of which was Oct. 12.
What also makes this game so intriguing are the staggering season-long numbers put up by both offenses. Bosco averages 59.5 points per game and Centennial 56.1. Centennial averages 515 yards per game, Bosco 555. Check all the numbers
