It's freeing up the stars of the league to show their faces back in the community.
Case in point is in New York, specifically
Boys & Girls (Brooklyn, N.Y.) High School which Wednesday had four young NBA standouts, including Bronx product
Kemba Walker, stop by as part of Under Armour's "Are you From Here?" tour.
Other players included Bucks guard Brandon Jennings, Timberwolves' first-round 2011 pick Derrick Williams, and Grizzlies' reserve Greivis Vasquez.
Walker, who starred at nearby
Rice (New York), was the ninth pick of the 2011 draft after leading UConn to a national championship. In his senior year at Rice, he averaged 18.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 3.3 steals per game, leading the Raiders to a 19-5 record.
The quartet is schedule to drop by
Lincoln (Brooklyn, N.Y.) on Friday to play an exhibition game against the Railsplitters.
