Landing Chicago's best high school basketball talent was thought to be a major priority for new Illinois head coach Brad Underwood when he was hired by the school back in March.
Underwood looks to be on the right track in that regard after getting a commitment from
Morgan Park (Chicago) guard
Ayo Dosunmu.
The 6-foot-4, 175-pound senior was the Class 3A Player of the Year in Illinois last season after leading Morgan Park to a state title. He also earned third MaxPreps Junior All-American honors.
247Sports has Dosunmu pegged as the No. 27 overall prospect in the Class of 2018 and the No. 3 combo guard.
Wake Forest was considered to be the other primary contender for Dosunmu's services. 247Sports reports that the Windy City backcourt star had 27 offers, including Connecticut, Kansas and Ohio State among others.
