South Bend Saint Joseph is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 15-11 win over New Prairie on Monday. While the Huskies didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Bella Esquibel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Esquibel was even better at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2025.

In other batting news, Mary Stack was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Payton Wulf was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
South Bend Saint Joseph kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Brayah Williams-Winston made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
South Bend Saint Joseph's record now sits at 7-0. As for South Bend Adams, their record is now 5-1-1.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. South Bend Saint Joseph has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .458. However, it's not like South Bend Adams struggles in that department as they've averaged .530. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
