After a string of four wins, the Triton Central Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 60-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter. Triton Central was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Triton Central's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eli Sego, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Crouse, who scored 16 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Xavier Highbaugh, who scored 22 points along with two steals. Highbaugh hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Devin Bolden was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Triton Central's loss dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-12 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Triton Central's road trip will continue as they head out to face Monrovia at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th. Hopefully Triton Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday. As for Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter, they will head out on the road to face off against Covenant Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
