North Shore (Galena Park), No. 3 in MaxPreps Texas Top 25, will host with No. 17 Memorial (Port Arthur) in an eagerly-anticipated District 21-5A showdown Friday night at Galena Park ISD Stadium.
The Gulf Coast matchup of unbeaten teams highlights the state's Week 6 ledger of games.
North Shore (5-0, 1-0 in District 21-5A) has been held under 50 points only once and the scores haven't been close — the Mustangs' average winning margin is just under 42 points a game.
While not quite as dominant on the scoreboard, Memorial (6-0, 2-0) has been just as effective when it comes to the bottom line.
Both teams have been getting great play from dual-threat senior quarterbacks.
Memorial's Ricky Fisk accounted for five touchdowns, three rushing and two passing, in a 61-14 homecoming rout of Channelview on Friday.
North Shore enjoyed an open date in Week 5, but Mustangs quarterback Micah Thomas has thrown for 758 yards and five touchdowns while rushing for 428 yards and seven scores this season.
The way the Titans and Mustangs have been scoring and with the talent on hand, this one promises to be entertaining.
With many of the state's top football teams idle over the weekend, there was not much movement in this week's Top 25. Klein Collins (Spring) and Lake Travis (Austin) are the only newcomers.
