High school basketball: No. 15 The Rock climbs National Top 20 rankings after winning SIAA tournament

MaxPreps is set to crown the National Top 20 champion following GEICO Nationals in early April. But with two weeks remaining before the field is announced March 16, every game becomes more critical in the final weeks of regular season play.

The Top Gun Showcase is expected to play a major role in shaping the national championship field, as No. 3 Link Academy (Branson, Mo.), No. 6 AZ Compass Prep (Chandler, Ariz.), No. 10 Southern California Academy (Castaic, Calif.) and No. 14 Hillcrest Prep (Phoenix) are all participating in the March 12-13 event.

GEICO Nationals locks No. 1 Sunrise Christian Academy, No. 2 IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.), No. 4 Montverde Academy (Montverde, Fla.) and No. 5 La Lumiere (La Porte, Ind.) have already completed regular season play, while No. 7 Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) wraps up its regular season slate this week. No. 8 St. Benedict's Prep (Newark, N.J.) also finished regular season play, but sit on the bubble for a GEICO Nationals invite.

The Sunshine Independent Athletic Association (SIAA) tournament came to a completion over the weekend as No. 15 The Rock (Gainesville, Fla.) defeated No. 13 West Oaks Academy (Orlando, Fla.) 96-93 behind tournament MVP Sammie Yeanay.
