The Texas football season is already five weeks in and some defensive players are logging a season's worth of stats thus far. Here are your leaders on the defensive side of the ball as of Monday.
See the Texas football stat leaderboardsTOTAL TACKLESAnthony Hines III, Sr., Plano East (Plano) 87The outside linebacker is having a monster season, averaging 21.8 tackles per game, and 15 tackles for loss. Hines had a season-high 23 stops, 12 solo, in his team's 36-21 victory over Wylie on Friday.
Sloan Rodberg, Sr., Wills Point 85Rodberg is a beast at middle linebacker for the Tigers. He logged 16 tackles in Wills Point's 20-14 win over Hillsboro on Friday. Rodberg also has three forced fumbles on the season.
Landry Kershaw, Sr., Bishop Lynch (Dallas) 81The middle linebacker has been a playmaker in his team's first four games. To go along with averaging 20.3 tackles per outing, Kershaw has three sacks. He had a season-low 16 tackles against Bishop Dunne on Friday, as the Friars fell 28-21.
Brandon Britton, Jr., Post 81Britton came up with 14 tackles vs. Slaton on Friday, as the Antelopes won 49-0. He also has 15 tackles for losses this season.
Isaias Gonzalez, Sr., Banquete 78Gonzalez corralled 14 tackles on Friday, in the Bulldogs' 41-28 win over Freer. The middle linebacker had 24 tackles in his team's season-opening victory.
SACKS
Cypress Ranch's Amaud Willis-Dalton has nine sacks on the season for the Mustangs.

Joshua Wells, Sr., Parkland (El Paso) 10The defensive end was held without a sack his last game, but on Sept. 16, Wells tallied five sacks for negative 35 yards as the Matadors beat Bel Air 37-27. Wells had eight sacks all of last year.
Amaud Willis-Dalton, Sr., Cypress Ranch (Houston) 9As an outside linebacker, Willis-Dalton has been able to get to the quarterback plenty this season. He came up with a sack in his team's 24-17 win over Cy-Fair on Thursday.
Gus Silva, Sr., Christoval 9Silva is coming off a season-high four sacks as the Cougars thrashed Ranger 47-2 on Friday. The defensive end registered three sacks in the season opener.
Cameron McCleod, Sr., Montgomery 9McCleod was held sack-less in his team's 45-14 win against Alief Hastings on Sept. 16. In his other three games this season, McCleod has two or more sacks.
Luke Brockermeyer, Jr., All Saints (Fort Worth) 9Since not getting a sack in the season opener, Brockermeyer has logged nine sacks in the last four games. He had two sacks when the Saints downed Episcopal School of Dallas 46-26 on Friday.
INTERCEPTIONSDeontray McKinney, So., KIPP Sunnyside (Houston) 5At just 5-foot-4 and 145 pounds, McKinney doesn't let his height slow him down. In his first year starting at defensive back, he already has a three-interception game as a well as one with two interceptions.
Kobe Hailey, Sr., Frost 5Along with being a strong defensive player, Hailey is a force on offense. The quarterback has run for 17 touchdowns this season. With his five interceptions, Hailey is averaging 27.8 yards per return.
Hayden Young, Fr., Pantego Christian (Arlington) 4He is only a freshman, folks. Yet, he has four interceptions in just three high school games.
Jeremy Martinez, Jr., Port Isabel 4Martinez was blanked from picking up an interception in his team's last game, but he had two picks -- which he returned for 71 yards -- in a 34-7 victory over Tomball Christian HomeSchool on Sept. 2.
Garrett Weaver, Sr., Navarro (Geronimo) 4With just one interception entering his team's fifth game, Weaver grabbed three picks in the Panthers' 42-13 win over La Grange on Sept. 16.
