The Metrodome will host this
Minnesota Class 5A bracket semifinal matchup Saturday between a pair of unbeaten teams. Cretin-Derham Hall seeks its second state championship in three years and its third since 1999. The Raiders beat then-undefeated Lakeville North in last week's quarterfinal round, 25-22. Senior
Zachary Hager connected on a 32-yard field goal in the closing seconds for the final margin of victory.
Defending champion Wayzata extended its winning streak to 22 with a comfortable 49-14 win over Moorhead last Saturday. Senior Antonio Ford led the Trojans with 249 rushing yards on only 18 carries,
according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. These Twin Cities powers haven't met in football since 2006, a game won by Cretin-Derham Hall. Their most recent meeting prior to that was in the 2005 Class 5A championship game, when a James Laurinaitis-led Wayzata squad won 28-24.
