The DasCHE Spartans came tearing into Saturday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Texas Lions HomeSchool by a score of 84-74. Given DasCHE's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while Texas Lions HomeSchool is ranked 318th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
DasCHE got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaleb Jackson out in front who scored 22 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jackson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Clark, who scored 19 points along with five assists and three steals.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jon Hadnot, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Hadnot is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Trenton Page was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with two steals.
DasCHE has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 25-3 record this season. As for Texas Lions HomeSchool, their loss dropped their record down to 23-8.
DasCHE and Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool will face off at 8:30 p.m. on January 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. DasCHE knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 matchups -- so hopefully Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool likes a good challenge. Texas Lions HomeSchool will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Dallas HSAA at 8:30 p.m. on January 27th. Texas Lions HomeSchool is facing Dallas HSAA at the right time seeing as Dallas HSAA is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
