The Monarchs have outscored their first three opponents 152-17 and play at No. 3 St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) next week on Oct. 1. The Braves have outscored their first five opponents 197-48 and both teams have not trailed at any point this season.
In our national game of the week, No. 14 Corner Canyon (Draper, Utah) beat Skyridge (Lehi, Utah) 38-23. The Chargers extended their winning streak to 47 and are two wins away from breaking the state record.
Devin Brown threw for four touchdowns in the victory and now has 27 on the season.
No. 5 Thompson (Alabaster, Ala.) handed Mountain Brook (Birmingham, Ala.) its first loss of the season with a one-sided 51-0 win. The back-to-back 7A state champs extended their winning streak to 24 and the Warriors have outscored the opposition 310-12 this season.
No. 6 Bergen Catholic (Oradell, N.J.) posted its first shutout of the season beating rival Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.) 17-0. The Crusaders have outscored their first four opponents 139-32.
Travis Hunter and No. 7 Collins Hill (Suwanee, Ga.) improved to 6-0 with a 34-0 shutout win over East Coweta (Sharpsburg, Ga.). The Eagles have posted three consecutive shutouts and host Peachtree Ridge (Suwanee, Ga.) next week.
No. 10 St. Xavier (Cincinnati) improved to 6-0 with a 52-14 victory over rival Elder (Cincinnati) and the defending Division 1 state champs have won 14 games in a row dating back to last season.
No. 12 Chandler (Ariz.) won its 40th consecutive game handing Liberty (Peoria, Ariz.) its first loss of the season with a 41-21 win.
Nicco Marchiol and No. 18 Hamilton (Chandler, Ariz.) cruised to a 33-15 win over Centennial (Peoria, Ariz.) a week after pulling off the biggest comeback of the season against Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) to improve to 4-0.
Braylin Presley and No. 22 Bixby (Okla.) won their 40th consecutive game with a dominant 71-0 victory over Bartlesville (Okla.).
