Green-Beckham, Meehan tabbed as Missouri large school football MVPs

Dorial Green-Beckham's record breaking crusade marched on this season allowing the 6-foot-6-inch, 220-pound junior to grab Most Valuable Player honors on the offensive side of the football on the Show-Me State's Large School All-State football team.

Green-Beckham began his takeover of the Missouri receiving record books a year ago when he caught 63 balls for 1,616 yards and 23 touchdowns. But by the end of the 2010-11 season, the Springfield-Hillcrest three-sport standout improved on two of those marks by grabbing 78 aerials for 1,706 yards and 15 scores.

After combining his numbers from the past two seasons with the more than 800 yards receiving he recorded as a freshman, last year's MaxPreps National Athlete of the Year now holds state records with 170 career catches for 4,154 yards and 51 touchdowns.

Webster Groves linebacker Jason Meehan is Green-Beckham's counterpart on the defensive side of the ball. The 6-2, 220-pound senior led the Statesmen to a 13-0 record before Webster Groves fell to Lee's Summit West in the Class 5 championship game in St. Louis. Meehan was a leader on the Statesman defense after accounting for 177 total tackles, including 13 tackles for losses and 10 sacks. He also recovered a fumble and intercepted five passes.
