Two players from MaxPreps National Champion Assumption (Louisville, Ky.) highlight this year's Underclass All-American squad.
Front-row standouts Rylee Radar and Anna DeBeer, who played major roles in the Rockets 43-0 state title run, were selected to the MaxPreps Junior All-American Team.
Rader, who was also named to the 2018 MaxPreps All-American team, was named National Junior Player of the Year.
Kami Miner (Redondo Beach, Calif.) was named National Sophomore Player of the Year and Averi Carlson (Lovejoy, Texas) was named National Freshman of the Year.

Junior All-American TeamNational Junior Player of the Year
Kentucky's Miss Volleyball led the Rockets to the MaxPreps National Championship and a 43-0 record. The Ohio State commit averaged 3.8 kills (hitting .553) also blocked 56 shots. She is a middle hitter.
MB — Kalynn Meyer, Superior (Neb.), 6-3The Nebraska commit led the Wildcats to a 30-4 record as she averaged 5.3 kills, 4.6 digs and 3.9 serve receptions per set. She also blocked 71 shots and served 61 aces. She was named to the state All-Super Six team.
MB — Annabelle Smith, Carroll (Southlake, Texas), 6-3The All-State selection had 157 blocks for the 40-10 Dragons that reached the Class 6A Region I final. She led Carroll with 544 kills (3.9 per set average and hit .501). Smith twice had 27 kills in a match, and three times she recorded seven blocks in a set.
OH — Birdie Hendrickson, Logan-Rogersville (Rogersville, Mo.), 6-2The Florida commit picked up about every state honor possible as she led the Wildcats to a 40-2 season and the state 3A title. She averaged better than four kills, digs and serve receptions per set. She was at her best in big games, with 23 kills in a quarterfinal win over nationally ranked Helias.
OH — Paige Flickinger, Byron Nelson (Trophy Club, Texas), 6-0, Jr.The
Texas state Player of the Year led Byron Nelson to high national
ranking nearly all season and a final 42-2 record. Flickinger registered
career highs 540 kills and 60 blocks this season while adding 600 digs.
She recorded 24 double-doubles and had six games with at least 20 kills
and 20 digs. She is a finalist for MaxPreps' National Junior Player of
the Year.
OH — Taylor Landfair, Plainfield Central (Plainfield, Ill.), 6-5The All-Stater recorded 505 kill (5.7 per set average), 40 blocks, 43 aces, 511 serve receptions (5.7 per set) and 242 digs. The Minnesota commit was the Most Valuable Player of the Southwest Prairie Conference and also earned all-tournament honors at Plainfield North, Wheaton Warrenville South and Plainfield Central.
OH — Madi Endsley, Cathedral Catholic (San Diego), 6-3In leading the Dons to the postseason, the verbal Nebraska commit averaged 5.8 kills with a .544 kill percentage. She also blocked 60 shots and played her best games against highly ranked teams when she averaged better than seven kills per set. She is a member of the U.S. girls national junior team.
OH — Anna Morris, Immaculate Heart Academy (Washington Township, N.J.), 6-3The Georgetown commit was a dominant force in the front row both offensively and defensively for the Blue Eagles, combining for 468 kills (4.4 per set) and 137 blocks (1.4 per set) as they won 39 of 40 matches and were New Jersey's top team. She also recorded 3.9 serve receptions and 2.7 digs per set.
OH — Camryn Hannah, Marist (Chicago), 6-1A right-side hitter, the Clemson commit totaled 372 kills, 192 digs, 106 blocks, 100 assists and 31 aces as Marist earned a state large school title and won 39 of 42 matches.
OH — Anna DeBeer, Assumption (Louisville, Ky.), 6-1Statistically, the numbers might not overwhelm, but DeBeer's play does. She averaged 3.1 kills, 2.1 digs and 1.2 per receptions per set for the National Champions. She has committed to Louisville.
OH — Elena Oglivie, 'Iolani (Honolulu), 5-10 Named the state's top player, Ogilvie led the Raiders to the state D1 title and a 28-win season. She averaged 5.4 kills, 3.6 digs, and 4.8 serve receptions per set. In the state title game, she had 28 kills in three sets.
OH — Paula Hernandez, Woodstock Academy (Woodstock, Conn.), 6-0Hernandez finished with 493 kills, 370 digs, 145 assists, and 261 service points including 76 aces this season for Woodstock, which was undefeated until losing in the state finals. She was a National Junior Player of the Year finalist.
S — Loren Robertson, Briarcrest Christian (Eads, Tenn.), 5-8Among the national leaders in assists, she averaging 12.6 per set as the Saints won the state D2 AA championship and won 40 of 42 matches. The Memphis commit also served better than 90 percent with 57 aces and had 45 blocks.
S — Mia Tuaniga, Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.), 5-9,The
Long Beach State commit is a finalist for the MaxPreps National Junior
Player of the Year. A three-year starter, she averaged 5.7 assists, 2.3
digs and 2.3 kills per set. She also served 57 aces and blocked 48
shots as Mater Dei won the CIF large school championship and 43-of-45
matches.
A-A — Melani Shaffmaster, New Castle (Ind.), 6-3,The
numbers just keep getting better for Shaffmaster, who was MaxPreps
National Sophomore Player of the Year in 2017. The big number is two —
back to back state 3A titles as Shaffmaster averaged 2.2 kills, 2.0 digs
and 9.2 assists. Shaffmaster, who has committed to Minnesota, averaged
11 assists per set in the postseason.

S — Sydney Dowler, Green Hope (Cary, N.C.), 6-0The Maryland commit led Green Hope to the state 4A title and a 28-1 season. She averaged 9.7 assists on the season and also managed 139 digs and 59 aces. She was the unanimous selection for MVP in the state championship match — the fourth player all-time to win the award three consecutive years and is the first at the 4A level.
S — Logan Case, Ursuline Academy (Cincinnati), 5-8She led Ursuline to its second-straight title and a high national ranking when she averaged 10.2 assists per set and served 96.5 with an ace 10 percent of the time. She also averaged 2.9 digs. Case has committed to Western Michigan.
L — Nalani Iosia, Redondo Union (Redondo Beach, Calif.), 5-9,In
110 sets, the Texas commit had 473 digs, 163 service aces and 201
assists. In addition to being named first team All-Southern Section, she
was all-tournament at Durango, Lakewood and the Redondo Power Classic.
A-A — Celia Cullen, Brighton (Mich.), 6-1,The team leader in all categories
— 603 assists, 265 digs (2.2), 384 kills (3.1 hitting .490), 194 kills (1.6 per set), 100 blocks
—
as the Bulldogs won 35 matches. Cullen has a verbal to Michigan State
and is a member of USA Girls Team. She was a finalist for MaxPreps
National Junior Player of the Year.
A-A — Jess Mruzik, Mercy (Farmington Hills, Mich.), 6-2,Mruzik
averaged 4.7 kills, 1.8 digs and served for 65 aces as Mercy went 53-3
on the season and had a long payoff run. A member of the U.S. Girls
National Team, she has committed to Michigan.
A-A — Alexa Rousseau, Bloomfield Hills (Mich.), 6-3The Northwestern commit was a finalist for National Junior Player of the Year despite her team's 28-22 season. She led the Black Hawks in assists (886 for an 8.0 per set average), blocking (111 for a 1.1 per set mark), serving (94.5 percent with an ace 33 percent of the time) and kills (433 for a 3.9 per set mark).
Sophomore All-American TeamNational Sophomore Player of the Year
Kami Miner, Redondo Union (Redondo Beach, Calif.), 5-11 Miner simply does it all and does so for one of the best prep programs in the country. Though missing 19 sets due to time playing for Team USA Juniors, she had 330 kills, 108 blocks, 291 digs and 554 assists. She was all-tournament at Durango, Lakewood, the Redondo Power Classic, the Bay League MVP and first team all-Southern Section.
MB — Allysa Batenhorst, Seven Lakes (Katy, Texas), 6-4A two-time All-State selection, her stats were slightly off from her freshman season as she was slowed by injury. However, she remained a force as she averaged over four kills per set and Seven Lakes won 27 times. She has committed to Nebraska.
MB — Samantha Francis, La Jolla Country Day (La Jolla, Calif.), 6-4An all-San Diego Section pick, she averaged better than four kills and serve receptions per set and 2.0 digs and 1.1 blocks per set as the Torreys won 21 matches.
OH — Lindsay Krause, Skutt Catholic (Omaha, Neb.), 6-3The Nebraska commit missed several games due to U-18 Youth National Team duties and in only 77 sets she recorded 260 kills to lead the SkyHawks to their fourth straight Class B state title.
OH — Shaye Eggleston, Brentwood (Tenn.), 6-0Picking up where her all-American sister (Logan) left off, Eggelson led the Bruins to another large school state title and a 47-3 season. She averaged 4.9 kills, 4.5 serve receptions and 2.7 digs per set.
OH — Olivia Keller, Beyer (Modesto, Calif.), 6-1Beyer won 27 matches as Keller hit 43 percent and averaged 5.5 kills. She also served 69 aces, blocked 31 shots and averaged 2.9 digs per set.
OH — Callie Bauer, Hudson (Mich.), 5-10With Bauer on the court, the Tigers won 39 matches. She averaged 5.3 kills, and 3.1 assists. She also served for 118 aces and 304 points, blocked 44 shots, and averaged 3.3 digs per set.
OH — Mabrey Shaffmaster, New Castle (Ind.), 6-1Shaffmaster, MaxPreps 2017 National Freshman of the Year, teamed with her All-American sister (Melani) to lead New Castle to its second-straight state 3A title. She led the Trojans in kills (642 for a 5.6 average) and aces (131) and was a finalist for National Sophomore of the Year.
OH — Atlantis Clendenin, Parke Heritage (Rockville, Ind.), 5-10Clendenin served an ace 43.4 percent of the time (202 total) for 316 points. She also average five kills per set as the Wolfpack reached the state finals.
OH — Kaylee Cox, Flower Mound (Texas), 6-2Cox led Flower Mound to a 43-win season and the Texas large school title. Her set averages for the season were impressive (5.9 serve receptions, 4.3 digs, and 3.8 kills), but she really stepped it up in the playoffs and was named the Dallas Morning News volleyball Player of the Year and was MVP at the state 6A tournament.
S — Elena Scott, Mercy (Louisville, Ky.), 5-8The future looks good for the Jaguars with a pair of sophomore All-Americans in Scott and Eleanor Beavin. Scott averaged 10 assists per set, had 276 digs and 123 kills and earned all-state honors.
S — Sophia Bossong, Siegel (Murfreesboro, Tenn.), 6-0Blossong's big numbers are 311 service points and 1,327 (10.5 per set) assists as Siegel finished second in state and won 30 matches. She has committed to Chattanooga.
S — Clara Brower, The Woodlands (Texas), 5-8The catalyst to the Highlanders' 46-5 season, Brower set 1,546 (11 per set) assists, served for 297 points, averaged 2.5 digs and recorded 114 kills. An All-State selection, she has committed to Georgia.
DS — Eleanor Beavin, Mercy (Louisville, Ky.), 5-6Named state's Defensive Player of the Year, Beavin averaged 6.3 serve receptions and 5.7 digs per set. She also served for 52 aces for the 32-7 Jaguars. She is a University of Kentucky commit.
L — Lexi Rodriguez, Sterling (Ill.), 5-5Rodriguez, who has committed to Nebraska, doesn't get the publicity of teammates Brooklyn, Bree and Josilyn Borum, but her all-out effort gets noticed. She averaged 7.5 digs for the 41-1 state 3A champions. She also served 92.7 percent and dished 135 assists.
A-A — Ali Hornung, Providence (Clarksville, Ind.), 5-9The Pioneers made a deep playoff run thanks to Hornung's All-American play. For the season, she averaged 4.9 kills, 4.5 serve receptions and 2.8 digs as the Pioneers were 33-3. She has committed to Purdue.
AA — Kennedi Orr, Eagan (Minn.), 6-0Committed to Nebraska, Orr led Eagan to a 31-3 season when she chalked up 312 kills, more than 200 set assists. She is a two-time All-State selection.
A-A — Brooke Mosher, Waterloo (Wis.), 6-0Mosher put up all-around numbers as Waterloo won 27 times: 534 kills (5.0 average), 106 aces, 80 blocks, 295 digs (2.8 average) and 400 assists (3.9 average). She has committed to Illinois.
A-A — Parker Bracken, Jackson Academy (Jackson, Miss.), 5-10Bracken led the Raiders to a 37-8 season by averaging 4.6 on serve receptions, 2.9 on digs, 1.1 on aces (308 service points) and 5.3 on kills (.443 hitting percentage). She has committed to LSU.

National Freshman Player of the Year
She averaged 10.5 assists and was named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association's All-State team after leading Lovejoy to a state runner-up finish in Class 5A. Carlson had 1,567 assists, including 58 against Frisco Wakeland in the regional final and 103 total in two matches against nationally ranked Prosper. She had 121 kills and 61 blocks.
MB — Maya Duckworth, Birdville (North Richland Hills, Texas), 5-9Duckworth made a big impact for the 41-8 Hawks when she led the team in kills with 616 (4.6 per set average), and had 489 digs, 70 blocks and 450 serve receptions.
MH — Jordan Middleton, Hamilton (Chandler, Ariz.), 6-2Appropriately named, Middleton was a opponent's nightmare as she blocked 132 shots and recorded 275 kills (2.3 per set) for the Huskies 33-win team.
MB/OH — Ellie Toney, Corunna (Mich.), 5-10All-around standout, Toney served for 92 aces (93.4 percent) and 401 points as Corunna went 50-7-5 on the season. She averaged 2.1 kills, 2.9 digs and 2.3 serve receptions.
OH — Grayce Olson, Foothill (Pleasanton, Calif.), 6-3The Falcons won the East Bay League (17-1) and finished 30-7 on the season. Neither would have happened without Olson's hitting and defense. She averaged better than four kills per set and was first team all-EBAL, a rare accomplishment for a freshman.
OH — Mya Larson, Wahoo (Neb.), 5-11Larson led Wahoo to a 35-2 season and the state C title while averaging 4.4 kills with a 47.2 kill percentage. She also had team highs in digs (392, 3.9) and serve receptions (467, 4.7).
OH — McKenna Wucherer, Brookfield Central (Brookfield, Wis.), 6-1Committed to Minnesota, Wucherer was named All-State and averaged 4.8 kills, served 91 kills and averaged 4.0 on serve receptions.
OH — Sydney Amiatu, El Camino (Oceanside, Calif.), 5-9Amiatu led team with 4.4 kills and .427 kill percentage as team won 33 matches. She also had team highs in aces (107), digs (398) digs and serve receptions serve receptions (605).
OH — Abby Castillon, Central Catholic (Modesto, Calif.), 5-10Castillon led her team in kills (4.4), blocks (49), digs (424) as the 33-win Raiders had a deep playoff run.
OH — Elia Rubin, Marymount (Los Angeles), 6-1It's not easy for freshmen to break into the Sailors lineup, but Rubin led them in kills (319) and serve receptions (796 for a 6.4 per set average) and was second in digs (286), service points (231) and aces (57).
OH — Whitney Chintala, Fleming (Colo.), 5-5Despite her height, Chintala averaged a team-high five kills per set. She also led the Wildcats in aces (47), serving percentage (97.6) and digs (639, 6-0 per set average) and was second in serve receptions (507). The Wildcats won 20 matches and Chintala earned All-State honors.
OH — Annabelle Sulish, Concord Christian (Knoxville, Tenn.), 5-10Sulish led the Lions to the D2 A state title match and a 32-10 season. She led the Lions in kills (4.6 per set) and served for 101 aces.
OH — Delaney Karl, Sage Creek (Carlsbad, Calif.), 6-0Karl made a big splash with the Bobcats during the 37-8 season. She had team highs in kills (418) and aces (77) and was second in serve receptions (556) and digs (251).
S — Teagan James, Barnstable (Hyannis, Mass.), 5-7James, who was first team All-State, joins her sister (Riley, a senior) as a MaxPreps All-American. The younger James averaged 11 assists per set as the Red Raiders went 23-1 and lost only in the state large school finals. A two-year starter, James also served for 248 points in 73 sets with 74 aces.
S — Madi Woodin, Elkhorn South (Omaha, Neb.), 5-6The Storm needed a setter and Woodin responded with 1,220 assists (10.9 per set average). As a result, the Storm won 30 matches and reach the state B finals. She also had 276 digs and served for 193 points.
L — Campbell Jensen, Village Christian (Sun Valley, Calif.), 5-6There were three Jensens in the state D2 champion Crusaders lineup and the shortest and youngest, Campbell, picked up the biggest postseason honor. She served for over 300 points (66 aces), averaged 4.4 digs per set and returned 931 serves (7.3 per set average).
L — Avery Deters, Centralia (Kan.), 5-3The youngest Panther had the biggest stats for the 46-0 state Class 1A champions. She led the team in digs with 549 (6.0 per set average), serve receptions with 340 (3.7), service points with 273 (48 aces, and 97.2 serving percentage). She was first team All-State.
A-A — Alyssa Borellis, Notre Dame Prep (Pontiac, Mich.), 5-10Borellis made immediate impact for the 64-6 Fighting Irish as she averaged 2.1 kills, 2.4 digs, and 4.6 assists per set. She also blocked 54 shots, served 96.3 percent resulting in 76 aces and 337 service points.
