Losses by two of the top teams in the California Bowl rankings did little to hurt their status, according to the latest bowl game rankings presented by MaxPreps.
Mater Dei lost to Santa Margarita in Trinity League play, but the loss only dropped the Monarchs one spot in the South Division I rankings. Mater Dei and Mission Viejo swapped spots with the Diablos moving up to No. 2.
In South Division IV, No. 1 ranked Bishop Diego lost to Oak Park 42-28, however the Cardinals still hold the top spot in this week's rankings. The impressive win helped Oak Park, which moved from No. 5 to No. 3 in the South Division III rankings.
Although there are still two weeks left in the regular season for most sections, here's some speculation as to which teams will be selected for each regional bowl game. See the full rankings below.
South Open: St. John Bosco vs. Serra (note: Serra is a Division II team, but the Open Division teams can come from any division).
North Open: Folsom vs. De La Salle
South Division I: Oceanside vs. Rancho Cucamonga
North Division I: Serra (San Mateo) vs. Del Oro
South Division II: Hart vs. La Habra
North Division II: Enterprise vs. Casa Grande
South Division III: Corona del Mar vs. Mission Oak
North Division III: Campolindo vs. West Valley
South Division IV: Bishop Diego vs. Parker
North Division IV: Central Catholic vs. McClymonds
