hired as head coach at Maryland. Vann verbally committed to UConn in
mid-December. He had originally committed to Minnesota last summer but
considered other options after the Big Ten program made a coaching
change.

Antonio Poole – one of Ohio's top uncommitted players remaining in the 2011 class – will take an official visit to Miami (Fla.) the weekend of Jan. 21. Miami has been a late addition to the schools that have shown interest in Poole. Miami hired Al Golden in mid-December and the Hurricanes wanted Poole to visit. Poole has been considering schools that include Cincinnati, Michigan State, Nebraska, Wake Forest, Kentucky, Purdue and others. Poole, a first-team all-Fort Ancient Valley Conference Buckeye selection, had 22 tackles for loss during the regular season.
