Norfolk County Agricultural hasn't had much luck against South Shore Vo-Tech recently, but that could start to change on Monday. Meanwhile, South Shore Vo-Tech made easy work of Cape Cod RVT on Friday and carried off an 11-5 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.
Nate Smith made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because South Shore Vo-Tech is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-7 otherwise. Smith was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Connor Peterson and Dillon O'Brien did most of the damage at the plate: Peterson got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI, while O'Brien went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Peterson is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Robert Bleidorn, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI.
South Shore Vo-Tech kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
South Shore Vo-Tech picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 4-8. As for Norfolk County Agricultural, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
Norfolk County Agricultural might still be hurting after the 14-1 defeat they got from South Shore Vo-Tech in their previous meeting last Wednesday. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
