After the release of the MaxPreps Top 25 high school girls basketball
rankings, we continue our 2024-25 preseason coverage with a look at the 20 best players in the
country.
Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized the top
players in America. Past honorees include Tina Charles, Elena Delle
Donne, Maya Moore, Nneka Ogwumike, Breanna Stewart and A'ja Wilson, who
all went on to win the WNBA's Most Valuable Player award.
This
year's Preseason MaxPreps All-America Team is headlined by
Aaliyah Chavez,
Kaleena Smith and
McKenna Woliczko, who have dreams of one day
joining the prestigious list above.
First Team
6-4 | Center | Senior | UCLA
The premier big in the prep game, she averaged 22.5 points, 15.6
rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.2 steals per game for the Wolves. She shot 64 percent from
the field and has more than 1,000 career points and rebounds entering her final season before joining sister Lauren with the Bruins.
5-7 | Guard | Senior | Uncommitted
The highly-coveted scorer has more than 25 Power 5 offers. The No. 1 prospect in her class averaged 37.8 points, 10.1
rebounds, 4.4 assists and 3.5 steals per game last season for the Plainsmen. She hit for a season-high 57 and topped the 50-point mark five times.
6-1 | Forward | Senior | USC
The lefty has led the Cavaliers to a 75-11 record over the past three seasons and averaged 26.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.8 steals and 2.6 assists per game last year as Clackamas finished third in the Class 6A tournament.
5-6 | Point guard | Sophomore | Uncommitted
The nickname "Special K" is apt when you take into account she was the lone freshman on the MaxPreps All-America Team last season. She averaged 34.9 points
and 6.5 assists per game and went for a season-high 62 in January. She shot 50 percent from the field and 41 percent
from 3-point range.
6-2 | Forward | Junior | Uncommitted
Helped the Monarchs to the Open Division title game in each of her first two years in high school. She averaged a team-high 22.1 points per game along with 7.3 rebounds and 2.0 steals last year while taking on a bigger leadership role with Morgan Cheli injured. She shot 64 percent from the field as Mitty went 30-1.
Second Team
6-1 | Guard | Senior | Cincinnati
A repeat MaxPreps All-American, she averaged 18.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.5
steals per game, shooting 64 percent from the field. Alexander is 81-4
in her Purcell Marian career.
6-1 | Guard | Senior | Texas
She transferred to Montverde Academy for her final season after putting up 24.5
points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.3 steals per game for Minnetonka (Minn.) as a junior, leading the
Skippers to a 29-2 record and Class AAAA state title.
5-10 | Guard | Junior | Uncommitted
The Sophomore MaxPreps All-American has been one of the fastest risers in the rankings after a dominant summer club session. On the prep hardwood, she averaged 27.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 4.7 steals and 4.3 assists per game while shooting 58 percent from the field. She dropped 45 in a AAAAAA semifinal win in last year's tournament.
Mia Pauldo, Morris Catholic (Denville, N.J.)5-6 | Guard | Senior | Tennessee
Led
the Crusaders to a 29-1 record, second straight Non-Public B state
title and No. 8 finish in the final MaxPreps Top 25. She averaged 19.9 points, 5.9 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 3.1 steals
per game, shooting 56 percent from the field.
Can play every position on the floor from 1 to 5. She averaged 22.5 points and 10.8 rebounds as the 31-3 Trailblazers reached the CIF Southern California Open Division finals.
Third Team
5-10 | Guard | Senior | LSU
The five-star recent college commit averaged 19.8 points, 9.3 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 2.8 steals per
night as the Wildcats went 24-3 and reached the Class 5A postseason.
5-11 | Guard | Junior | Uncommitted
The transfer had more than 25 Power 5 offers and averaged 25.6 points, 10.9 rebounds, 3.4 steals and 3.2 assists while
helping Laurel (Shaker Heights, Ohio) reach the Division II state championship game.
6-3 | Forward | Senior | LSU
Joining Bourrage at LSU, Knox controls the paint for the reigning MaxPreps National Champions. After missing a year with a knee injury, she averaged 15.9 points, 11.0 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per
night for Etiwanda.
5-5 | Guard | Senior | Cal
A four-year varsity starter showed tremendous gains as a junior, leading the No. 1 Eagles to a second straight Open Division title. She owned the championship game and averaged
16.1 points, 5.4 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 2.8 steals per game for the season.
6-4 | Post | Sophomore | UncommittedAveraged 17.5 points, 18.8 rebounds and 3.6 blocked shots per game in
leading Christ the King (29-3) to the CHSAA AA championship. In the
title-game victory, she scored 24 along with 16 rebounds and four
blocks.

Averaged 19.8 points and 6.1 rebounds per game for the VISAA Division 1 state champions.
6-0 | Guard | Senior | Iowa
The five-star combo averaged 16.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 13 games before an ankle injury in December ended her season for the then-ranked Monarchs.
6-2 | Wing | Senior | South Carolina
Nearing 2,000 career points, she averaged 19.6 points and 9.2 rebounds
as her team went 30-3 and reached the 6A regional semifinals.
6-0 | Guard | Senior | Duke
Averaged 24.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.6
steals per game as the Riverhawks went 25-2 record and won second straight Class 4A
title.
6-1 | Guard | Junior | Uncommitted
On a team loaded with Power 5 talent, the younger Swords averaged 11.4 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 2.8 assists a game with her hustle and grittiness.
