Berea had lost seven games at home dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 3-14 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Buckhorn Wildcats an 11-0 shutout. The Pirates' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Olin Perry made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Berea is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 0-14 otherwise. Perry was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Berea got a massive performance out of Brandon Parker, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That double was Parker's first of the season. Blake King was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
