The last time I picked girls All-American teams was 2010 and among the Top 25 players that year, four eventually moved on to tonight's historic Notre Dame (37-0) versus Connecticut (39-0) national title game.

Three of them currently wear UConn jerseys. And for that reason – plus experience – I'm picking the Huskies in tonight's epic game. That, plus they feature the game's best all-around player, 6-foot-4 Breanna Stewart, our 2012 National Player of the Year.
All except one of the 10 starters in the game were MaxPreps All-Amercans — Notre Dame senior Ariel Braker, from Grosse Point North (Mich.) didn't make a squad, an obvious oversight.
Here are the projected starters from the most anticipated game in women's Final 4 history, their season stats in college, followed by the comments made next to their MaxPreps All-American bio.
Of note: Only one player — Notre Dame's Jewel Lloyd — attended high school in the state of her college team.
CONNECTICUTG Moriah Jefferson (10.2 ppg, 188 assists, 104 steals)College year: Sophomore
MaxPreps AA: First team 2012
High school: THESA (Colleyville, Texas)MP AA comment: Jefferson, a blur at the top of the offense, is skilled, athletic and as quick a guard as has been seen lately. She'll make a difference for Connecticut next season.

G Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis (13.2 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 70 assists)College year: Junior
MaxPreps AA: First team 2011 (National Player of the Year)
High school: Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.)MP AA comment: Mosqueda-Lewis was the star on the No. 1 team in the nation, and what she gave the Monarchs is what she'll give the Huskies: Scoring. Mosqueda-Lewis is a tremendous shooter with superb footwork and deep range. She can also post up if needed, and should make an immediate impact for the Huskies. Oh, and she was the MaxPreps Girls Basketball National Player of the Year.
G Bria Hartley (16.3 ppg. 3.6 rpg, 170 assists, 67 steals)College year: Senior
MaxPreps AA: Second team 2010

MaxPreps AA: First team 2012 (Player of the Year)
High School: Cicero-North Syracuse (Cicero, N.Y.)MP AA comment: The MaxPreps National Player of the Year can pretty much do everything, and if she stays healthy, it won't be long until she's in the discussion of the best player in the world. She's that good.
C Stefanie Dolson (12.3 ppg, 9.1 rpg, 128 assists, 90 blocks)College year: Senior
MaxPreps AA: Fourth team 2010

G Lindsay Allen, (6.3 ppg, 2.4 rpg)College year: Freshman
MaxPreps AA: Second team 2013
High School: St. John's (Washington, D.C) MP AA comment: She may not fill Skylar Diggins' shoes, but Allen was the lead guard on one of the nation's best (No. 3 overall) teams. St. John's lost just once, playing one of the toughest schedules in the nation.
G Kayla McBride (17.5 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 3.9 apg)College year: Senior
MaxPreps AA: Fifth team 2010

G Jewell Loyd (18.7 ppg, 6.5 rpg)
College year: Sophomore
MaxPreps AA: Second team 2012
High School: Niles West (Skokie, Ill.)MP AA comment: Loyd can do it all, and do it all well, which will put her in the mix to get immediate minutes in South Bend. Muffet McGraw may not miss graduated guards Brittany Mallory and Natalie Novosel as much as she thinks.
