Maker was born in Sudan, raised in Australia and spent time at schools in Louisiana and Virginia before heading north of the border and finishing his prep career at the Athlete Institute.
The 7-foot forward is regarded as the No. 10 prospect in the 2016 class by
247Sports.
Maker's eligibility status for this year's draft is murky and will be widely followed. Bolstering his case is the fact that he's already 19 years old and reportedly graduated from high school in June of 2015 (Athlete Institute is a post-graduate program).
