She led her team to a 28-2 record and first-ever championship game appearance. She also averaged 9.7 rebounds, 3.9 steals and 1.3 blocks per game.
And now, Sahuaro junior Alyssa Brown is the 2019-20 Suddenlink Arizona Player of the Year.
After breaking through with a stellar sophomore campaign in which she averaged 24.2 points and 7.4 rebounds per game, the 6-foot-1 Brown upped her game. She scored more than 40 points three times during her junior campaign, including a season-high of 45 during a 71-39 victory over Casa Grande when she made 15-of-25 shots, including a season-high four 3-pointers.
For the season she made 56 percent of her shots, 341 of 607, and 70 percent of her free throws, 195 of 277.
She finished the season with 932 points, breaking the mark of 929 set in 2005-06 by Brittney Strummer of Coronado (Scottsdale).
Brown led her team to a landmark season with 18 straight wins to start the year. After a Jan. 20 loss to Sabino, the Cougars won 10 straight before falling in the state 4A title game to Seton Catholic, despite 21 points from Brown.

First Team
6-1 | Junior | Forward
Topped all scorers in the state by nearly 300 points while leading the Cougars to a landmark 28-2 season. Had season highs of 45 points, 19 rebounds, four assists, eight steals and four blocks.
6-1 | Junior | Guard
Ranked one of the Top 100 players in the country for the Class of 2021. Dorroh averaged a team-best 15.9 points along with 5.7 rebounds and 4.3 steals per game for the 28-4 Sabercats, who won the state 3A championship.
Finished second in the state with 644 points while averaging 22.7 per game. The do-everything guard also averaged 6.4 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 3.8 steals per game, while shooting 53 percent from the field, 44 percent on 3-pointers and 83 percent at the free-throw line.
Senya Rabouin, Shadow Mountain (Phoenix)5-5 | Senior | Guard
Did it all for the Matadors, who went 25-4 and reached the state 5A finals. Rabouin averaged 20.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 5.7 steals per game. She finished an illustrious career with 2,070 points.
6-4 | Senior | Center
North Carolina commit averaged 19.4 points and 9.0 rebounds again while leading the 27-4 Tigers to their second straight 5A state championship. She had game highs of 22 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks in the title game.

Second Team
6-0 | Sophomore | Forward
The state's fourth-leading scorer at 22.5 points per game, Cervantes led the Lions to a 21-4 season. She averaged 6.1 rebounds and 4.0 steals per game and shot a remarkable 91 percent from the foul line, 101 of 111.
6-1 | Junior | Forward
Did it all for the 27-3 Monsoon, who reached the state 6A finals following a 48-47 semifinal victory over Perry. Davis hit the game-winning shot in that game with two seconds. She averaged more than 20 points per game.
Nizhoni James, Valley (Sanders)5-7 | Senior | Forward
Completed a stellar prep career by finishing second in the state in scoring at 22.8 per game. James also averaged 9.4 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 4.8 steals and 1.7 blocks per game for the 17-10 Pirates.
5-10 | Junior | Guard
An impact player since her freshman season, Stedman's numbers keep rising. She averaged 18.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.6 steals for the state 6A semifinalist Pioneers, who finished 23-7.

model of consistency, Weathersby did it all for her team, averaging
17.3 points, 12.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.6 steals and 1.8 blocks per
game. She led the state in double-doubles with 22.
Third Team
6-0 | Senior | Center
One of the top interior players in the state, Acosta finished sixth in Arizona in rebounding at 13.3 per game to go along with a 20.5 scoring average. She also averaged 1.3 blocks per game while shooting 60 percent from the floor.
5-4 | Senior | Guard
Davis makes everything go for the state 6A finalist Huskies (23-6), while averaging 10.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.3 steals per game. She had 20 points, nine rebounds, three assists and four steal in Hamilton's 70-50 semifinal win over Pinnacle.
Talia Dial, Dysart (El Mirage)5-9 | Sophomore | Guard
The state's sixth-leading scorer averaged 21.3 points in 28 games, along with 5.3 rebounds and 2.6 steals. She had a career-high 32 points in a 44-40 win over Combs. Opened the season with back-to-back 27-point performances.
Lopez made a huge impact as a freshman for the 28-3 Pumas, averaging 18.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.9 steals and 2.4 blocks per game. She led her team to the state 2A quarterfinals.
Following
a stellar junior season, Ostlie was on her way to an even better senior
season when she went down with a season-ending knee injury. In 10 games,
she averaged 21.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 3.0 steals per
game.
