Previous No. 24 Austintown-Fitch (Youngstown, Ohio) changed places with previous No. 17 Washington (Massillon, Ohio) following a 30-27 victory in a battle of unbeatens.

The Crusaders defeated Elder (Cincinnati) 35-14 to capture their 26th Greater Catholic League South championship. Senior Gus Ragland ran 15 times for 112 yards and one touchdown and threw for three other touchdowns.

2. (2) Colerain (Cincinnati) 7-0
Senior Kelvin Cook ran 14 times for 171 yards and three touchdowns while passing for two other scores during a 40-22 victory over Sycamore (Cincinnati).

3. (3) St. Edward (Lakewood, Ohio) 6-0
St. Edward was idle last week.

4. (4) Cass Tech (Detroit) 7-0
The Technicians handed Mumford (Detroit) its first loss by a decisive 41-6 margin. Mike Weber ran 19 times for 202 yards and three touchdowns. Kevin Scott made five tackles and returned an interception for a 96-yard touchdown.

5. (5) Brother Rice (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) 7-0
The Warriors had a season-high total offense (471 yards) during a 38-10 victory over Canada Prep Football Academy (St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada). Alex Malzone completed 11 of 17 passes for 200 yards and two touchdowns. Josiah Thomas made eight tackles, four for losses.

6. (6) Loyola Academy (Wilmette, Ill.) 7-0
The Ramblers shut out De La Salle (Chicago) 48-0. In his first start at quarterback, D.J. Melsheimer completed 16 of 22 passes for 212 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for a 41-yard touchdown.

7. (7) Blue Springs (Mo.) 7-0
The Wildcats blanked Blue Springs South 35-0 as Ian Brown completed 13 of 16 passes for 195 yards and three touchdowns. Dalvin Warmack ran 18 times for 234 yards and one touchdown.

8. (8) Eden Prairie (Minn.) 6-0
The Eagles converted five turnovers into an early lead and breezed to a 49-14 victory over Wayzata (Plymouth, Minn.). Ryan Connelly shouldered the load with four touchdowns, two on runs and two on pass receptions.

9. (9) Montini (Lombard, Ill.)  7-0
The Broncos held on to defeat Marian Central Catholic (Woodstock, Ill.) 40-35. Alex Wills completed 16 of 21 passes for 299 yards and a trio of touchdowns, while wide receiver Tyler Tumpane scored four times on a total offense of 153 yards.

10. (10) Mount Carmel (Chicago, Ill.) 6-1
The defense yielded just 23 yards during a 55-0 rout of St. Laurence (Burbank, Ill.). Senior Jimmy Mickens carried just eight times, but amassed 193 yards and scored three touchdowns.

11. (11) Penn (Mishawaka, Ind.) 8-0
The Kingsmen defeated Riley (South Bend, Ind.) for the 29th straight time but the margin was only 21-11 after Penn had outscored its first four home opponents by a 177-0 margin. Zach Oakley scored on runs of one and 34 yards and passed for a nine-yard touchdown.

12. (12) Glenbard West (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) 6-1
The Hilltoppers overcame a rainstorm to hand Proviso West (Hillside, Ill.) a 34-6 defeat. Scott Andrews ran 21 times for 111 yards and three touchdowns, while Byron Jackson returned a kickoff for a 94-yard touchdown.

13. (13) Dowling (West Des Moines, Iowa) 7-0
Ryan Boyle scored on runs of four and 52 yards during a 42-3 victory over Ottumwa (Iowa).

14. (14) Wheaton-Warrenville South (Wheaton, Ill.) 6-1
The Tigers scored all their points in the second half of a 28-0 victory over Lake Park (Roselle, Ill.). Ryan Graham set the pace by passing for 128 yards and running for a pair of touchdowns.

15. (15) Center Grove (Greenwood, Ind.) 7-1
Luke Calvert completed a near-perfect 13 of 14 passes for 177 yards and three touchdowns during a 41-14 victory over North Central (Indianapolis).

16. (16) Homestead (Mequon, Wis.) 8-0
The Highlanders' winning streak reached 14 with a 28-20 victory over Germantown (Wis.) as Eric Wade scored a trio of touchdowns.

17. (24) Austintown-Fitch (Youngstown, Ohio) 7-0
The Falcons handed previously No. 17-ranked Massillon (Ohio) its first loss, 30-27, before an estimated crowd of 8,000. Quarterback Antwan Harris ran 25 times for 164 yards and three touchdowns, while Nick Sheely did an outstanding job of punting.

18. (18) Lincoln-Way East (Frankfort, Ill.) 6-1
The Griffins defeated Sandburg (Orland Park, Ill.) 31-13 as Jordan Wirtz completed 13 of 26 passes for 211 yards and two touchdowns. Linebacker Luke Epich had an interception and two tackles for minus yardage.

19. (19) Dakota (Macomb, Mich.) 7-0
The Cougars celebrated their homecoming with a 50-13 rout of Utica Ford (Sterling Heights, Mich.). Tyler Crowell led the way by passing for 128 yards and three touchdowns.

20. (20) Carmel (Ind.) 6-2
The Greyhounds defeated previously-ranked Pike (Indianapolis), 40-32, after trailing 25-13 at halftime. Shakir Paschall ran 27 times for 146 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

21. (21) Wheaton North (Wheaton, Ill.) 6-1
Northwestern University recruit Clayton Thorson completed 20 of 25 passes for 210 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for a pair of scores during a 48-7 rout of Aurora West (Aurora, Ill.). Beau Martin led the defense with seven tackles.

22. (22) Omaha North (Neb.) 7-0
The Vikings broke out of a 7-7 halftime stalemate to celebrate their homecoming with a 41-14 victory over Papillion-LaVista (Papillion, Neb.) before an estimated crowd of 4,500. Junior Calvin Strong, who leads state Class A rushers, carried 33 times for 192 yards and three touchdowns.

23. (23) Lincoln (Sioux Falls, S.D.) 7-0
The Patriots posted a 23-0 victory over Harrisburg (S.D.) following a scoreless first half. Caden Quintanilla was the pacesetter with 23 carries for 134 yards and one touchdown.

24. (17) Washington (Massillon, Ohio) 6-1
Trailing 30-14 with 4:45 left, the Tigers made a stirring comeback against unbeaten Austintown-Fitch (Youngstown, Ohio) only to fall just short in a 30-27 loss. Super freshman quarterback Danny Clark fired touchdown passes of 80 and 72 yards to Reggie Rogers and Clark was stopped on a run inside the 10-yard line as time elapsed.

25. (25) Omaha Westside (Neb.) 7-0
Christian Hagan passed for 167 yards and three touchdowns and kicked six extra points during a 49-8 victory over Omaha South (Neb.).
