If there is a "must see" week of high school football in Oregon, this has got to be it. Six top 10 teams in the 6A ranks will put their undefeated records on the line in key league matchups.
ÿ
Jesuit at Westview:ÿ Jesuit remains the No. 1 team in the latest Associated Press poll.ÿ The Crusaders are averaging 44.7 points per contest, while limiting opponents to just 8.9 points. The host Wildcats are averaging 33 points per game. Both teams are 7-0 with perfect 3-0 records in the Metro League.
ÿ
Grant at Lincoln:ÿ A highly-anticipated battle between the top two teams and quarterbacks in the Portland Interscholastic League. In his team's 56-6 win over Benson, Lincoln quarterback Connor Kavanaugh threw for seven touchdowns to lead the second-ranked Cardinals to their seventh-straight victory. Kavanaugh already has 27 touchdown passes on the year. In sixth-rated Grant's 40-14 win over Wilson , Andre Broadous threw for three scores, and ran 29 yards for another in leading the Generals.
ÿ
Grants Pass at Sheldon:ÿ This Southwest Conference game features the passing attack of the host Irish against the punishing ground game of the Cavemen. Sheldon rallied in the last six minutes of their game last week against North Medford - scoring two touchdowns to beat the Black Tornado 25-21. Sheldon's Alex Beshaw threw for 305 yards on 18 of 33 attempts, with two touchdowns and an interception. The Irish signal caller now has over 1,600 yards and 14 touchdown passes. Grants Pass trounced short-handed South Medford 42-7 last Friday. Caveman running back Craig Dolmage racked up rushing three touchdowns on the night to bring his state-best total to 18 on the season.

5A Game of the Night:ÿ Lost in the hype of the 6A games is the Northwest Oregon Conference contest at Wilsonville between the No. 2 Wildcats and the visiting Sherwood Bowmen, ranked third in the latest AP poll. Undefeated Wilsonville is coming off a narrow, 28-21 win over top 10 rival Glencoe. Sherwood (7-1) pounded St. Helens 41-14.ÿ Their only loss was a 28-21 defeat at the hands of top-ranked West Albany on September 15.
